Wake Up

You said, “I thought it was understood.”
But how can I understand what you said
When what you say and what you do
Are two entirely different things?
I should have known.

Should have known that it was all a trap
A sick, and twisted plot
The script you wrote had a saddened end
But afterall,
It’s all for the sake of the game, right?

You told me “I miss you”
And I still don’t believe you
Cuz really, what’s the point?
You’ve burnt every bridge I ever made
And there’s no way back in.

The more I see and the more I hear
The more I come to realize
That all you’re doing is living that script.
Your words are the same, your moves are the same
And I feel I’m the only one that sees it.

And I hope that soon you’ll realize
That your sweet, sweet words will fall on deaf ears
And the moves that once charmed the world
Will only ever work in your dreams.
Sooner or later, we all have to wake up.
