Not a Hair of Hope

The knight and shiny armor
Has rusted away
Leaving Rapunzel closed off to stay
Captive in her own home
Let down her hair
They say
Each man that walks by
Tries but fails at each attempt
For she cut off all her hair
Leaving to survive on moldy bread
With each bite
And each breathe
Seems to be her last
Life is diminishing
Where did her innocence go
As the days go on
Not one soul
Reaches out anymore
A forgotten fairytale
That once had hope
But it all away to some fool
Who couldn’t fight to stay
Which tiered her world apart
Of reality
She sits by the window
Gasping her last breath
Looking out to the world
Of a blank dull stare
Full of regrets
