Corrupted Romance

I ask you for a dance.
I feel daring tonight.
But when you turn me down,
In your eyes I see fright.

I came you
But you turned away.
You did not listen
To what I had to say.

The dance floor is full
Of people moving to the beat.
They hold each other close
As I look at you in defeat.

You call me a liar.
A pathetic little girl.
You do not realize
That you crushed my whole world.

The people disperse
As the songs turn slow.
Soon there is nobody
Left for the show.

You look at me
And realize your mistake.
You finally understand
That my pain is not fake.

And this poem
Is almost done,
But there’s one song
That’s yet to be sung.

And with it I can give you
One last chance.
You can make it up to me
With this one last dance,
My beautiful, corrupted romance.
