Battle

Looking back on the years
There were no fights and there were no tears.
But everything seemed to change as the years went by.
The hurtful words have been said and made her cry.
The tears run down her face and hit the floor.
Not even a good night kiss just a slamming door.

Crying in bed late at night
All because of one blow out fight
That put the rest of them to shame.
She can’t ever win this ongoing battle
And homes not a home anymore.
Her life seems to have gone off path
And it’s turned into a game.

She’s said some things that she didn’t mean
But you won’t forget and make a scene.
The fight is over for now but it’s not done
The other one’s thinking that they’ve won
But you can’t win a fight
You can never win a fight that isn’t right.
