Fifteen red roses and a lone white rose

Fifteen red roses and a lone white rose
Sit upon your desk, wrapped in a bouquet;
These flowers are to greet your heart, and shows
My heart's thoughts to you, sweet, day after day;
Fifteen red roses symbolize my past,
Fifteen years without your warmth, nor your touch;
The painful fifteen years do not surpass
The year of our compelling love, as such;
The one fearless, single, feral white rose
Stands, centered, surrounded, but yet at peace;
For this white rose stands and does not dispose,
Nor destroys years; this was our golden fleece;
Guarded by our love, like that of a beast,
Covertly loved, forever more, at peace.
