Silent in the Flames
Burning and scalding, the flames rise
Choking and gagging I search for you threw the black smoke.
My eyes strain, I lean forward, thinking to see you.
The flames rise, engulfing my cries.
In silence I burn, burn away,
as you stand there, stand away.
I’m dying slowly, unable to move, unable to speak,
and your standing there stunningly, able to move, able speak.
I dare not ask,
for you to save me.
I dare not cry,
for you to rescue me.
I dare not say a word
in fear that you will hate me.
Burning and scalding the flames rise.
Choking and gagging I meet your eyes.
Seeing you I lean forward, silently pleading, silently begging;
For you to save me.
For you to rescue me.
But in the end you only hate me,
And I remain in misery,
silent in the flames.
Seeing you I lean forward, silently pleading, silently begging;
For you to save me.
For you to rescue me.
But in the end you only hate me,
And I remain in misery,
silent in the flames.

I wrote this after reading The Crucible, about the Salem Witch Trials. Guess it kind of inpired me :)
