Open-Ended

She sits in the corner, all alone.
The darkness surrounds her, her skin and bone.
No one sees the tears that fall
She smiles, she laughs, and that's all.

She's never upset, she's always alive
She doesn't let anyone see the pain inside.

Everyday is another act
No one sees her popping Prozac

She doesn't eat, she can never sleep.
She's always full with secrets to keep.

Her make-up hides the bags, her bracelets hide her scars
She dances with friends in her backyard

But in her room, late at night
Living nightmares fill her with fright

Memories flood her, and overwhelm her
And she can't think of the ones who would miss her

All she sees are monsters and demons
She can't see her angels, she thinks they're leaving

Like everyone else that came and went
All she knows is time horribly spent

Crying in moonlight, screaming in silence
Every living moment so horribly tense

Colors, in her eyes, are faded to gray
Sounds are blurred, her mind decayed

She won't say goodbye, not today
She will wait for relationships frayed

When she's sure that she won't be missed
When she's positive nothing will shift.
