A childs story
As she walked her way to the front,
she turned around to see the face of everyone in the classroom,
she saw the excitment in their eyes,
the eargerness to tell their story,
she out down her notebook,
she remembered it by heart,
and took a deap breath,
" this summer wasnt the best,
but in some ways it was,"
the little girl started,
" I went to montana to see my family,
I had fun, Oh how i missed them,
my mommy and daddy told me we had to leave,
so I packed my stuff and headed off,
i was singing along to the radio,
when my mommt started shouting,
I didn't understand why she was,
and the next day i woke up in the hospital,
I had asked the nurse where mommy and daddy were,
but she looked at me and started crying,
so i asked her whats wrong,
she told me mommy and daddy went to heaven,
I asked her how far heaven was,
but she looked at me again and started crying,
I never got my answer so when i went home with my sissy,
I got on the phone and called my babysitter,"
she told us her story with everyone so quiet,
I saw the hurt in her eyes,
as she continued,
" I asked her how far heaven was,
she had asked me why,
and I told her mommy and daddy went there,
she began to cry,
she told me heaven wasn't far,
but heaven was a place they lived now,
sissy told me they died,
mommy and daddy saved my life that night,
she said their watching over me now,"
she looked out at her classmates,
all of which were crying,
as she sat back in her seat,
and pulled out a necklace,
that day i read in the newspaper,
that a mom and dad put themselfs infront of the child,
the kid survived but the parents didn't,
they found a necklace in the mothers hand,
with a note attached,
" happy birthday baby girl, mommy and daddy love you!"
i began to cry ,
it was the little girls birthday the day her parents died,
I looked back at her,
and she had a smile apon her face,
" don't be sad teacher,
I'm happy their okay,
Their up there and someday I'll be with them,"
she looked at me and smiled,
in the necklace was a picture,
a picture of them,
and then i knew in my heart,
this girl was blessed,
and someday will join her parents.
