Untitled

My disguise is my masterpiece
Born of my craft
Shrouded in shadows
Pocketing coveted sunshine
Painting on smiles
and carving out lies
My art is the truth, veiled by a disguise
Living unrealized by your eyes
A shell, a shroud, a cover, a veil
The finest
To hide, to cover them with no one the wiser
I will paint on my smile
I will carve you a lie
Coatings of peace on the outside
Turmoil intertwined with darkness underlies
I‘ll never tell you, you would never ask after all
See in me only what you wish, never seek the truth
Thinly concealed as it may be to knowing eyes
Do not search beyond my masterpiece
I have crafted so skillfully
Built to deter prying eyes seeking answers to questions
Best left unknown
See what I show you, believe in the lies
Leave the past blurry, buried within
Looking only to tomorrow desperate to forget
Memories, pieces, masks, and lies
Onto tomorrow, the future left unstained
