An Isle Of Calm

I want it to stop now
To put an end to the pain
But I’ll settle for just a short pause
A small isle of calm
Nearly submerged in a sea of distress
So difficult to capture
Those moments I crave
When the memories
Of what’s been said and done
Are put on hold
When I can forget your face
And the sound of that voice
The bitter words spilled
Mesmerized by scarlet teardrops
Cascading past pale flesh
Yearning to follow the rich red path
Into oblivion
