Once upon a time
I was in love.
I was happy; I was cheerful.
I felt as peaceful as a dove.

And you, well..
You were nice; you were friendly.
I told you the truth
and you accepted kindly.

As time passed, you changed.
You became rude, you became ignorant.
You became my worst nightmare.
So much of you was different.

So while you changed and transformed,
I waited and rotten.
I waited and waited for the old you,
instead of the plague that I had gotten.

Waiting for you, I changed as well.
I'm now hurt and broken.
My heart is now dark and numb.
I guess that is your token.

So, as my mind wonders where you've gone,
