Janus

Shameless or guilty eyes?
Triggered by your self-destruction,
I surround myself with mirrors
and old acquaintances.

Crafting idyllic lies
Just to savour some recognition.
I await the dawn of the dissolution
of false pretences.

'Two-faced,' she solemnly cries;
I have a face for all occasions.
Empty words and masks of glass
my only defences.

Exeunt and fade to black,
now listen for the sirens.
