Can't Speak Out, Can't Be.

The breeze cuts your skin as you walk towards your goal.
The tremors that run, thumping in your heart, begin to make you whole.
The lightning that strikes you, isn't the last breath.
But a new dawn, waiting patiently for an imperceivable depth.

The lights that sound around your eyes are but specters in the night.
The screams that penetrate your lungs are nothing like your fight.
The man grabs you, and takes you for his own,
But you will not let him break you, your body lies prone.

The agony wracks you, as you awaken from bad dreams.
The pain is all over, beating and breaking all the seams.
The hurt he has caused you, has you trembling on your knees,
But you will not cry, you will not disclose your unease.

The children laugh to a sonic lullabye.
The only thing you can do is not cry.
The only thing you are allowed to show is happiness,
But as to why it doesn't show on your face is anyone's guess.

The lightbulb blares above your doubt.
The time has come for you to shout out.
The opportunity is in an away-glance.
But you are too broken for this chance.
