Alabaster
There once was a girl who loved a boy
A boy who used her as his toy
The thought of him filled her with joy
But her spirit he would soon destroy
His skin was white as alabaster
This boy who set her emotions astir
The sound of his voice was a sweet liqueur
It hid from her what would occur
He was quick; his mind agile
He hid from her his pointed smile
And fed her poison from a vial
His hair was the shade of night
As was the hour he would take flight
She would not have let go without a fight
But he was gone; out of sight
She was meant to be a bride
The night she died
She dragged herself inside
And tried to hide
The pain she felt from the divide
Her heart was crushed
Her sobs were hushed
Just like the whispers that rushed
Behind the face with the smile airbrushed
A boy who used her as his toy
The thought of him filled her with joy
But her spirit he would soon destroy
His skin was white as alabaster
This boy who set her emotions astir
The sound of his voice was a sweet liqueur
It hid from her what would occur
He was quick; his mind agile
He hid from her his pointed smile
And fed her poison from a vial
His hair was the shade of night
As was the hour he would take flight
She would not have let go without a fight
But he was gone; out of sight
She was meant to be a bride
The night she died
She dragged herself inside
And tried to hide
The pain she felt from the divide
Her heart was crushed
Her sobs were hushed
Just like the whispers that rushed
Behind the face with the smile airbrushed
