Flash of the Abs

As a young boy chasing girls with your wooden bar so mighty,
You're Don Juan or you're Bond and you always won the girl.
Times change very quickly,
and you had to grow up early,
A gym in smoking ruins and the dumbbells at your feet.

You'll die as you lived
In a flash of the abs,
In a gym, forgotten by no one.
You lived for the touch
For the feel of the steel
One man, and his honor.

The smell of sweaty gym socks
The steely iron weights
As you crunch and squat and sit-up at the personal trainer's call.
He taught you all he ever knew
To fear no teenie bopper
and now you'll find your glory in the
Screams of every woman.

I did an exercise we had to do in high school once: take a song or poem and change it based on some insipration you've had.

Song: Flash of the Blade- Iron Maiden

Inspiration: Mason Aguirre and my friend Bee
