Forgive Me

Do you remember the rain, soft and blue?
Cold droplets against unharmed skin, so warm?
Those lost friendships that we pretend to form?
To discover some lonely heart to chew
The desire to run from what I knew
How I miss your smile under the storm
What we rehearsed took too long to perform
I was to lose the road that led to you

Unexpectedly falling in such love
When our younger lives weren't fading so fast
To the devil I prayed for it to last
Evil had come in the form of a dove
Anticipating the pain held within
And forgive me the knife that pierced my skin
