Abstract Art

Someone other than the artist herself
May never know just what the girl was thinking
When she pulled those paints down from the shelf
And sat at her easel and began painting.

The pinks and reds and white and black
Swirling together in a neverending fantasy
All she knows is that she won't look back
She'll make this art just what she wants it to be.

In the pink and reds she hides a heart or two;
If they find it, she thinks, they must feel the same
She raises her brush and her stroke is firm and true,
She finishes the piece with the flourish that is her name.

Standing back, admiring the finished masterpiece,
She realizes that everything seems to be a heart
Smiling, she examines the swirls that never cease,
Loving that she can express her love through art.

I liked it. I'm a self-proclaimed artist, though...so I'm biased ^^
