Hidden Behind a Mask

A mask is a means to be
Something people want the world to see;
Something to hide who they are
In a society that goes so far
As to dictate who we should be.

On goes a mask,
And individuality fades to the back
Of confused minds
screaming to be different, one of a kind,
But who are also afraid to act.

Dare to be different, set your mask askew,
Don't be afraid to show the world you're nothing but you.
If they lable you an outcast,
Don't fade into the back,
Instead of being sheep, embrace your differences. You'll be glad you do.
