Water Drops

No, not tears but water drops,

Never let tears fall,

it's rain on her cheek,

as she drifts to sleep,

not a tear but salty rain,

black, tainted water drops,

form a river down her face,

No, not tears but water drops,

Water from the salty rain,

rolls down her face,

she slows her hearts pace,

ready to just give in,

Weakness comes,

Weakness goes,

She makes sure she never lets her weakness show,

No, not tears but water drops,

She doesn't allow herself to cry,

Tears are weakness and she wont give in,

wont give in to the impulses,

cant commit the sin,

to curious eyes,

she easily lies,

insisting that they only imagine her cries,

No, not tears but water drops,

or at least that's what she says,

but the tale draws thin,

she may be forced to give in,

take off the mask,

accept the past,

Yes, tears, not water drops,

Mascara runs down her cheek,

this girl lives in pain,

in salty rain,

insisting she never cries,

not in the light,

but the dead of night,

Yes, tears, not water drops,

rolling down her face,

she slows her hearts pace,

as water drops are falling,

she cant hear them calling,

people want to help but she pushes them away,

what could they do, anyway?

the girl still lies,

to prying eyes,

she still cries,

in the night,

but at dawn it fades,

another painful day,

filled with, not tears, but water drops.
