The Day You Left

Ever since I heard the news,
I counted down the days;
till the night before you left came into play,
And you finally said the words I needed to hear.

Every moment;
heart racing,
mind buzzing,
soul breaking.

I gave you a piece,
knowing you'd take care of it.
Maybe I was wrong to assume so much,
but I'll trust you with the fragile soul.

Every thought;
consumed thoroughly,
breaking me down,
making me fall.

I hear your voice in my heart,
But tears are already streaming down my face.
A farewell kiss is all I get,
As you part from me-- slipping out of my hands..

But I'll always remember, the day you left.
