Flashback

The days of unrest are upon me
Just like snow that never quite settles on the ground.
The flashbacks take me to December,
the month that I found out,
That the sun never sets in the west,
But falls upon all of our dreams.
Our prayers are answered by shooting stars,
That travel so infrequently.
The rain never soaks the ground,
it's our tears that water the flowers,
and if I had not met you,
I'd be better off too.
Flashback two we're sitting at home.
Messages passed through a screen made of glass,
you can tell that this won't last.
Together forever so we said,
but we were so young
and so ignorant of what forever means.
Who knows what it means,
all I know is that,
Feelings never last forever,
people change like the wind.
Mistakes are meant to be made,
it's your choice if you learn from them.
You never know what's gonna happen next,
but when it happens you better move quick.
And I know if I never met you,
I would not be myself.
