Cries of the Heart

The light intrudes
The crevices of my heart
Dark and broken
Covering the parts
That have shattered
So strengthened, so sharp

The moon dwells overhead
As the sun begins to die
Waiting to overtake
The coarse, dramatic sighs
That silence the heaviness
Of the heart’s loud cries.
