Blackened Sun

You didn't fail,
We failed.
My love, we tried,
I don't want this to end,
but already I can see death in the eyes of myself,
of my reflection.

Without you the image death I see will go,
and be replaced by the real thing.
I would not die,
though how hard I might try,
the path I see before me is much worse than death.
My darling, it is a life without you.

It is a life where I'm dead inside,
and can only hope for it to take me completely,
but it doesn't.
It will let me suffer,
suffer until I can no longer hold onto this world,
and I will simply vanish.
Who else would notice my absence?

This connection I have with you is not meant to break,
The closer we go to pulling it apart,
the more poison gets pumped into me.
The connection will scream if it dies,
and my life will be riddled with nightmares,
awake and asleep.
