Only A Friend

Girl after girl
They're so obsessed
He led her on
Now she's not impressed
She learned his tricks from everyone around
He's trying so hard to get her back
Show her he cares, and put her on the right track
She doesn't believe a word he says
She's done with him but yet she still cares
The feelings she had still linger there
But she knows they can never be more than friends
He'll play her is all, and then it will end.
She thought that she had waited her fair turn
He would come back to her
But then she learned
It was all just a silly game he played
And there she had waited for days and days
She felt like a fool but she would be strong
Now everything that had was gone
One day she finally found the words to say
I love you not, but I will stay
Friends at least, that will do
And maybe someday, you will get a clue
I'll be here when you need someone
But I will not be a lonely one
For I have done the best I can
And I'll be here until the end.

Okay, so this poem is a true story, I didn't go through it, but my friend did. This guy kept leading her on, and she thought that he would eventually date her, but he kept getting all these girlfriends, so she finally told him that she didn't love him anymore, and that they could be friends, and they are. She writes stories (not on here. And they're short), and she wrote one about her situation and I used some of the thoughts and stuff she put in and put some of my own work and rhyming in, and I came out with this poem. Hope you like it!

I don't write poems much, so don't be too hard on me! Haha
