A Bleeding Rose

Alone in a world of darkness

No one can hear her screams

She’s loveless

She lives a life with no dreams

The pain that she feels overflows to a knife

She writes on her wrists

wants to give up her life

No one cares that she exists

Her feelings are shut away in her mind

Because no one took the time to be kind

She hides behind “memories” and a fake smile

When all the while she feels an exile

One day she holds up a gun to her head

She’s left no goodbye, no note to be read

She counts to three and then pulls the trigger

The pool of blood around her is getting bigger

She lies there, weak and waits all alone

For death to save her and bring her home

Life was never where she belonged

She wanted to go and live in shalom

Her fate came quickly, and so ended the pain

That spread throughout her body like a white-hot knife

Even you never treated her with much but profane

Any kindness from you might have saved her life...
