Skin and Bones

I see your bones
and all the scars
that always seemed to show

I remember the lies you hid behind
to cover up your insecurities
when you looked in the mirror
hideous screamed at you

When you saw pretty
it was skin and bones
and you almost died to achieve that beauty

I watched you lay in the hospital
when pills were to much

Your lonely mother cries
dreaming of where her sweet child went
how she use to smile and give her mommy kisses

But that child was gone
she was just skin and bones
