Elegy for a Polaroid

Elegy for a Polaroid,
Our distant, fallen friend.
A hot commodity,
At its prime,
Has lost its luster throughout time.
It satisfied the masses with
Instant memories,
Secured secret promises
Of immediate lethargies
Yet time grew old,
And we did too.
So the flashy meteor of brand spanking new
Washed out our long-time fading star.
We kissed your white framed children goodbye
And laid them in a shallow grave.
Only to be rediscovered
By retro-seeking dreamers
And vintage veterans one day.
So sing this loud!
For our faithful pal
Who though extinct,
Remains distinct.
