My Lonely Heart

Taunted by the haunting past,
Thirsty for new beginnings,
Longing for something to last,
Dreaming for a happy ending.

Aspirations becomes low,
Shattering my every hope,
My heart begins to beat too slow,
Unable for me to cope.

I hoped for something better,
Something new, something profound,
A life I'd want to live in forever,
A life I've never ever found.

Every broken heart,
Comes with a cause,
You can never tell them apart,
For each one is a big loss.

Every single heartache,
Comes with an effect,
A situation you'd rather not take,
A part of your life you would regret.

My love was pure, never tainted,
But the favor was never returned,
They still chose to take it for granted,
And from that time on, I have learned.

I have learned not to trust too much,
I have learned to take as much as I give,
I have learned not to be fooled by a mere touch,
I have learned not to be deceived.

This poem is my only way,
To tell them how I truly feel,
All the things I've been meaning to say,
And all the pain I have concealed.

All these emotions mixed up,
Though unwanted, but it had to start,
It comes from within, and would never stop,
Would never leave me and my lonely heart.
