Love is Tough

Shrouded in darkness
Drenched in fear
Waiting for the one good thing
To disappear.

I will, you say, be with you forever
I can’t help but believe you
I believe that things happen for a reason
And it is a miracle, too.

Yet there is a nagging in my mind
It says that you will leave
Once I am my weakest state
I will be heaved.

So many thoughts
So little time
All I want to do
Is marry you so you are all mine.

Please tell me this is real
Tell me I am not dreaming
Are you a tangible thing?
Or is it just my mind scheming?

I want you and only you forever
Is that simple enough?
Apparently, it is more complex than that
