A Cure to This Sickness

I can’t try, to cure this sickness
It is beyond my realm of control
Your twisted logic
And shilling actions
Watch me fall to pieces.

Broken ash fault streets
And flickering lamp posts
Walk along the edge of the curb
Danger dancing in your eyes

Escaping unscathed, pointless
Colour of youth flushes your cheeks
And uncertainty calls your name

Your face appears in sight
And happiness rushes over me
Simplicity, freedom, black and white

Lean in as lightning strikes
Straight to my core
I smile with knowledge that I am free.
