Changing Seasons

The seasons are changing
In front of our eyes.
The air smells of autumn.
It feels like a fresh page
Torn from a notebook.
We're changing, too.
I can feel it; it hurts.
My heart clenches tightly.
My tears, they flow freely.
I've hurt you time and time again.
Don't you know you've hurt me, too?
We've broken promises,
Both of us, it's true.
I want to go back
To the summer days.
Promises were made,
And also were kept.
You don't want to hear my apologies.
I think you like the
Fall.
