Atrophy
You brush your cares off
Like dust from your shoulder
I wear my thoughts
Stained into my skin
You shed the shadows
Just a step away from light
I am consumed and dimmed
And become just a silhouette
You dismiss your anger
As a troubled after thought
I burn hollow inside
While kindling a hatred
You grow stronger
With each face you meet
I become smaller
With each breath I take
Becoming less and less
Numb and thoughtless
I see but I can't feel
As my chest begins to still
No more beating
Atrophy
Like dust from your shoulder
I wear my thoughts
Stained into my skin
You shed the shadows
Just a step away from light
I am consumed and dimmed
And become just a silhouette
You dismiss your anger
As a troubled after thought
I burn hollow inside
While kindling a hatred
You grow stronger
With each face you meet
I become smaller
With each breath I take
Becoming less and less
Numb and thoughtless
I see but I can't feel
As my chest begins to still
No more beating
Atrophy
