Helping a Friend See the Light
I remember very clearly that night
Where you went the extra mile
To help a friend to see the light
I will forever have the foresight
To know what is and what’s not my style
I will be the one to forfeit a fight
I see the world in a new light
Because you taught me not to file
My many memories which burn in the night
I stand on my own right
Knowing who to dial
When I need help seeing the light
I no longer view the world in black and white
It’s now a totally grey area worth my while
Friends, I need you more than ever to share my fight
The fight in which I told so tight
These memories, running free like the Nile
You took my hand and held on tight
As I told you my troubles throughout the night.
Where you went the extra mile
To help a friend to see the light
I will forever have the foresight
To know what is and what’s not my style
I will be the one to forfeit a fight
I see the world in a new light
Because you taught me not to file
My many memories which burn in the night
I stand on my own right
Knowing who to dial
When I need help seeing the light
I no longer view the world in black and white
It’s now a totally grey area worth my while
Friends, I need you more than ever to share my fight
The fight in which I told so tight
These memories, running free like the Nile
You took my hand and held on tight
As I told you my troubles throughout the night.
