Cigarettes.

We say goodbye to our cigarettes because they're the only ones that know,
We pray for something to miss us once we've gone.
The poison on my lips only reminds me I am weak
But I heard you tell a story of a man who was still strong,
I heard you say that the liar still had heart,
I said courage was still afraid and you smiled back at me.
I hope for something,
I've seen darkness in your eyes
But you've seen inside of me.

So we say goodbye to our cigarettes.
We say goodbye to the places we've never met.
I hope that someday you'll think of me,
I hope that one day you'll remember of a man,
Who said things that made you smile when you were sad.

Sometimes I dream and I forget to close my eyes.
Sometimes I forget the world won't remember me.
I've seen places that I've never been
I've made it this far
And you've helped me.

So I'll say goodbye to my cigarettes,
Because they're the only ones that know all the rest.
