Birds of a Feather

Alone I am, I stare in to space,
You consume my thoughts, I see your face.
I try to shut you out but you always reappear.
Go away, you are not wanted, get out of here!

I lied, I wish to see you again.
I mean why not? We're supposed to be friends.
But how can that work when I wish you were mine?
I miss how our bodies would intertwine.

My hand in yours, I felt secure.
I felt our amour was true to be sure.
My heart and head always in confliction;
I hate that you are my secret addiction.

I know we cannot be, but it's nice to dream.
I don't bother with plots, I don't bother with schemes.
Maybe next lifetime we will be together;
Our hearts will be one, birds of a feather.
