Why Do You Do What You Do?

You said you’d always be here for me when I’m in need,
Then why did you laugh at me when I turned to leave?
You say that you won’t do these things but I know it’s a lie,
Otherwise you would have cried when you saw the pain in my eyes.
Why do you do what you do?
What did I ever do to you?
You were my friend or at least I thought,
You and I were inseparable we never fought.
But you did what you did and you have to pay the price,
And all the tears I cried will never suffice.
If you really cared you’d feel my pain,
You’d hold me close when I’m in vain.
But you never cared,
And I am scared,
That you will never see,
How when I was with you I was a truly happy perfect me.
You say you will try,
But I know it’s a lie.
Why do you do what you do?
