But the merchant had no choice.

As time passed, a boy stopped in front of the shop;

Practiced eyes could see the boy had no money.

The boy said he could clean up the glasses in the window.

As he was doing so two customers had entered,

And bought some crystal.

“I’ll work for you” the boy said.

Time passed,

“I’d like to build a display case” the boy said.

That day the merchant gave permission to build the display.

Two more months passed.

The shelf bought many customers.

As time passed, the boy said, “We could sell tea in crystal glasses.”

The merchant told the boy that he could begin to sell tea in crystal glasses.

Before long, news spread and spread.

People began to climb the hill.

Eventually the merchant had to hire two more employees;

He began to import enormous quantities of tea, along with crystal.
