The High School Epidemic

The high school epidemic.

Where lives are altered,
And personalities change.
Where old friends are lost,
And new friends are gained.

The pressure to fit in,
The fear to be rejected.
You change yourself so much,
Just to be accepted.

Where kids experiment,
And do shameful deeds.
Their innocence is gone,
And so is their dignity.

New secrets are made,
And old secrets are reveled.
The realization of a truth,
May be about concerning you.

*Where "true" love is found,
and life seems perfect
Until heartbreaks surround
The first reason you
Thought love was worth it .

A brand new beginning,
And a young kid's end.
A perfect way to get to know yourself,
And a perfect way to lose your head.

Where the envy takes over
you, and everyone
to a point where friends
and enemies all become one

and when you think your alone
you turn to the drugs
thinking they'll save you
from all you've become

and as the days pass
you sit and contemplate
that life is a struggle
and you don't want to be part of it
