the War

I walk down a dark road
Desolate
All alone
Is this the kind of world we live in?

Cause everywhere else is just the same
If I leave this road, I have nothing to gain
But to watch as the flames tear down everything around me
A world were a politic is the same as a millionaire
And everyone else is left to despair
As those bastards all stare
Down from their hill
The wage the wars to win their own game
While we are mere players on the board

It all seems so foreign
The thought of money and power
Our lives would be different if it were ours
The rich think for themselves
While the lower classes think for each other
Funny, how that works
It seems as though this should be the opposite
But in the minds of people
This is called ‘fair’

It is not fair that mothers never get to say goodbye
Those unspoken words, on their minds until they die
It’s mass murder without punishment
Needless pain for the selfless people
The ones who deserve to have what the undeserving take advantage of

I’m talking about a world that supposedly believes in ‘equality’
So that means that a man can beat his wife senseless
And two intelligent women can’t get married?
Sometimes I look around and want to scream ‘What the Fuck!?’

People always tell me that there is light at the end of the tunnel
But the light seems so far away
I believe I might die trying to make it
But I will keep fighting
Because we are all soldiers
We all have to carry on, even if it seems hopeless
Some will die
Some will live
Some will go insane trying to handle it
And we are all together
Even if we claim to be apart

We have one thing in common
And that thing is life
We are all alive
And that is why I write
