Drowning

I look up at the sun
As the icy waters close over me.
The cold is seeping in through my skin
I know I shall soon me dead.
The feeling from my hands go
It feels like my fingers have dropped off
And are now sinking to the bottom of the ocean
I hit the ice with my foot but that makes the ice stronger
The water is restraining me
Holding me with its strong spindly fingers.
Holding me tight pulling me under
I break free and swim for the surface
Its now or never I must get out
I reach the top as I feel ice cold fingers
Slowly rap one by one round my ankle
Pulling me under again
I scream but there is not sound my ears are blocked by the water
And all I hear is the eerie screams of the waters other victims
As they attempted to scream for help
The sound bounces round my head and around the water.
The water darkens and I am haunted by the screams
That are followed my the cold icy laugh of the water itself,
Laughing at a cold, life-less fool in its grasp.
