War. War Never Changes.

Did they call you at 3am
To say you had no choice
Did you speak into the phone
Just to hear your voice?

Will the bombs go off tomorrow?
The smoke floating through the door
Will this house provide a refuge
From the bleak onset of war?

When the rage penetrates the ceiling
Will you cry?
And when the ashes fall upon your face
Will you want to die?

Did radiation ceaselessly
Drop into the room?
Did the air raid sirens provide the requiem
From the unrelenting doom?

Will God ever listen
To your desperate night prayers
Did he even think to look
Do you still believe he cares?
