The Guardians

Everyday the man grew weaker and weaker,
He knew what he was to expect.
He wasn't afraid because he knew it was his time,
Everyone knew it would happen someday.

His companion of time and love waited by him.
She would lay be his bed and never leave.
She was his guardian angel there to protect.
He would do anything for her happiness's sake.

His life was draining ever faster.
She gave him strength to make it through the day.
He was starting to get worse,
He was more weak now than ever.

His guardian was also dwindling in the process.
She never left his side for that week,
She refused to even eat or drink.
He knows that she won't last much longer like this.

One day she could sense it would be soon that he passed.
She scattered around the house to worn someone,
Nobody understood her desperate cries or howls.
She knew of nothing else to do.

She climbed into the bed beside him.
He rested his hand on her head and whispered,
"I will always remember you; even in heaven."
In that moment she knew of only one more option.

Her very strength and last breath went to him.
They fell asleep together that night.
For her sleep was never ending and separate from body,
While for his was only till the breaking of dawn.

She gave her remaining years to the man.
When he woke and she didn't he knew everything.
He felt better, heart-broken, but no longer ill.
His heart had followed her to heaven that night before.

He lived on and barrier her under a beautiful willow.
Everyday for the next five years he visited her grave.
She was truly his guardian angel now,
She never stopped watching him through the clouds.

One day he went to her grave and he found her.
A tear rolled down his face and he dropped to his knees.
He was staring strait at her angel now.
She whispered, "It is finally your time master."

He suddenly felt an overwhelming peace,
Then everything was calm around them.
He took his last breathe at his guardian's grave,
His family buried him next to her underneath the willow.

They reunited in heaven.
They were both young again,
Her only a puppy and him a young man.
There joy was unexplainable.

They lived out all of their memories together,
Good or bad; they relived each others love.
They also created new memories,
As they forever stayed young.

More of their family arrived as they once were through-out the years.
No ones was as inseparable as him and his guardian.
Heaven only made their love strengthen,
Even God envied them and their love.

One day God was so jealous that he did something terrible.
He couldn't stand to see what he had to be without,
So he banished the man to hell as his angel was forced to stay.
The man now waited at Satan's gate because of his unconditional love.

His angel could not stand to be without him.
She disobeyed God's every rule and fell,
She ripped out out her own grace to save the man.
He slowly got closer and closer to the front of the line though.

She was no longer a true angel but an Earth-bound spirit.
Little did either of them know; he held her grace.
She traveled the Earth for him and faced horrific obstacles,
All to reach him at Satan's gates.

It took her over a year to travel the ends of the Earth.
When she finally reached him he was at the front of the line.
She ran toward him faster and faster,
Howling after him just to gain his attention.

They met again as she regained her grace.
When God found out he brought them both back to heaven.
He knew that he had made a horrible mistake,
No one could take away their love or keep them apart.

Their family and them were forever back together.
Him and his guardian's love were more powerful then God himself.
They became Earth's first and only guardians and protectors.
Their love shined down as the sun as they watched through the clouds.

They were companions for as long as eternity lasted,
They had given a new definition to love.
Their everlasting faith was never broken or mangled.
Not even time could ravish their love.
