Tomorrow's Daughter

Tomorrow's daughter is a being of fine beauty.

She is strong, and confident, and intelligent.

She never sheds tears, that drip and shatter on the moonlit concrete,

And her solid brass heart is impossible to scratch.

Her glass eyes never crack,

Nor do her metal lips tarnish,

Or her painted on skin fade away.

She struts fluidly through streets without fault.

She handles sadness with a grace and elegance,

And anger with a stunning fury.

She draws days to a close with a grin,

And a mannerly comment.

Her mornings awake with a poised frame,

And a fine looking guise which she flaunts.

Not once are her delicate feathers ruffled,

Or her gentle wings or spirit broken.

Tomorrow's daughter is a being of fine beauty.

She surpasses the highest achievements of man,

And cannot be torn down.

Tomorrow's daughter will never arrive,

And neither will tomorrow.
