Final Wish

She may have been naive,
Might have thought drugs were like candy,
But that’s all she’d known
That’s the place where she had lived and grown
She was so young only fifteen and already on her own
How was she supposed to know that one little hit
Was all it took for her to get addicted
How was she gonna tell that her world was crumbling
When she was so high
On a little something called cloud nine
She’d use that stuff, shoot it into her veins
Hoping to make sense of these growing pains
She tried to put together her broken home
But it’s hard to do when your family will
Leave you all alone
When did the screams become the soundtrack to her life
Because her father went around beating his own wife
And she never knew this isn't how it’s meant to be me
And though everybody’s final wish was,
“God, please come save me."
