Nightmares Of The Night

Bow down to thy gruesome night,
Sends down blood rain to cleanse me,
I hold out my arms and watch me transform,
The darkness lifts me, and sends me down again with a scythe in my hands,

The time has come, once again
To watch as little children and old souls,
Sneak out under the cursing moonlight,
The red sky is upon us, the pumpkin patch bares a lonely little ghosts,

What is that thing?
Interfering with my plans?
Carrying off my human meals,
Off into the sky where into the cornfields land falling heads

And who is that monster?
Coming out from under the bed?
With bones in his teeth and blood on his hands?

And where have all the skeletons gone?
They're marching from the graveyard out into the crisp night,
With buckets of eyes, hearts, and hands,
Their Halloween special,

You see that black mansion?
On the top of that hill,
Thats where all the ghouls and monsters go,
To have a Halloween thrill,

Humans can go in, there's no rule against that,
But go at your own risk,
You'll never make it back,

It happens once a year,
The celebration of the dead,
But you'll never know who's watching,
Growling, staring, and craving you,
Underneath your bed,

So go back to your room,
And close your eyes and dream,
Soon it'll turn to nightmares,
Bursting at the seam...
