Atrocity

A subtle inky black seeps through the darkened sky
It drips through the clouds like the darkest soot black dye
It brings about confusion and, without a reason why,
It pools onto the ground and the world goes straight by.

Something rather strange happened to this phenomenon
A light enveloped the ground the brooding mass was stirring on
Its creation did appal
As it stood, mightily tall
Above the people who had created such a danger to us all.

There were those that did once care
That such an atrocity was there
But the overwhelming unconcern forced hatred upon the being
And moments before the light of dawn
Hate caused its crumpled mass to form
A terrible nightmare, from light ‘twas cruelly torn.
