Nature Meets Man

Nature Meets Man

A serene setting,
River water ripples slightly
While speck-like birds screech.
Rough rocks are covered with tears;
Fresh scents of rain lingering .
A midnight bird flies over murky depths,
All quiet, all peace.
Or is it?
Car engines roar, brick buildings
Peek over towering trees.
People stroll around, chatting quietly.
Then, "Choo Choo!" wails the whistle,
Creaking and groaning, a train chugs in.
Yellow and blue, but has a grimy face.
Man meets nature, this is the place.

I actually wrote this sitting on a wet rock in Harper's Ferry. Yeah, not my best day, but I rather like the poem. What'd you think?
