The Understatement

On the exterior, my life may seem extraordinary
But deep within, it is quiet ordinary
In the most unthinkable ways, I am very analogous to you
I have excellent and terrible times too

The music I make is well known
However, my inner personality is the contrary
Internally I am unconditionally prone
To the doom of all contemporary

In fact, I am rather knowledgeable
Much to the mortal extent
Not in the least bit gullible
It is the norm I should represent

But, the perception outsiders have on me
Is as inaccurate as can be
And it would remain this way for all eternity
I would forever be the female, rock legend – certainly

You can distinguish it from afar, me and my electric guitar
I am a –underestimated, envied, philosophical- rock star
