Another Day With You

Standing in the dark, how fun does that sound?

I would rather be with you, but you’re not around.

There are so many things that are left unsaid; it’s like a page in a book that is left torn but unread.

Questions floating all around but when my lips move there’s no sound.

The harder I try, the worse it gets, the more confusion seeps in my head.

Determined I am to do this differently, but what if this gets the best of me?

Walking alone down that road again is not time I’ll want to spend.

Along the way losing hope, just might as well hang me by the neck with a rope.

But that won’t happen, well not this time.

Watch your heart and I’ll watch mine.

Days come and days go.

Watch them as they fly by.

Hoping it will not be soon I’ll be saying that dreaded goodbye.

Don’t walk away from what we’ve started, because you’ll leave me brokenhearted.

As dark and grim as this poem seems to be, I do know I love you, and you love me.

Making me smile, happy, and laugh is something that you're really good at.

While sitting here waiting for you to come, hours fly by.

Warily I stare out the window.

It’s just another day with you in my life.
