Nightmare

NIGHTMARE

My dreams make me wonder.
My pulse sounds like thunder.
In my ear.
Voices I hear.
Tears falling down my face.
This dream isn't my place.
In the dark he grabs my arm.
Trying to use his charm.
I scream your name.
I feel the shame.
He violates me.
Why can't you see?
I toss and turn.
I can feel the burn.
Wake me from my nightmare.
I don't care if you stare.
The voices tell me to get free.
Will he let me be?
This repetitive dream.
I wake with a scream.
Afraid to fall into the unknown.
I search for my phone.
I call you.
Yeah, it's only two.
You say you'll be right here.
And it takes off from there.
He entered my house.
As slinky as a mouse.
A hand to my mouth.
I tried to shout.
He violates me as it seems.
This time it's not a dream.
You break down my door.
To find me on the floor.
You saved me on sight.
If only for a night.
